The Magick of Crystals
The properties of Quartz crystals
Crystals have been used since the dawn of man for magickal and divination purposes...
Even without knowing a thing about atoms, molecular structures, or piezoelectric properties, crystals have inspired us on some deep emotional level - we pick them up, turn them around, feel their texture, see their beauty, and maybe consciously or subconsciously feel a kind of energy emanating from them. In view of this, it's not hard to see why crystals have played an important roll in history and literature, not to mention magick and healing since the beginning of time.
When we think of crystals, clear Quartz crystals are usually the first thing to come to mind, but the world is full of crystals other than Quartz. Diamonds are carbon crystals, snowflakes are water crystals, and table salt is a sodium crystal, to name just a few. We use Quartz crystals in everyday life in computers, radios, and clocks because of their ability to generate electrical impulses when mechanically stressed and because of their ability to resonate or vibrate when an electrical charge is applied to them. We know that crystals are capable of both transmitting and emitting energy, and this is the essence of why they have been used metaphysically throughout history.
For most of us, our first crystal will be a Quartz crystal, either in its natural form or a cut and polished version. Quartz is abundant, affordable, and readily available. A natural Quartz crystal is always a 6-sided cylinder with a pyramid shape on one or both ends. This is the natural form of Quartz and interestingly, the outward shape is an exact duplication of the molecular structure of the crystal. If you take a hammer and break a crystal, the resultant pieces will all be smaller versions with the same shape as the original crystal. If there is an all-purpose crystal for general metaphysical purposes, it is the Quartz crystal, and as such this is the best choice as a first crystal for anyone. There's no set way to acquire your first Quartz crystal. If you get it as a gift, then good - it was meant to be yours and it is special. If you have to go get your own, trust your instincts. Look at the selection and purchase the one that jumps out at you. If one catches your eye as you walk up to the display, get that one.

Using gems and stones
From ancient times to civilized times precious and semi-precious stones have always held our fascination. Their beauty is natural and everlasting...
The Anglo-Saxon k in Magick is the eleventh letter of several alphabets, and eleven is the principal number of magick, because it is the number attributed to the Qliphoth - the underworld of chaotic forces that have to be mentally conquered before magick can be performed. K has other magical implications: it corresponds to the power or shakti aspect of creative energy, for k is the ancient Egyptian khu, the magical power.

Properties of ruby crystals
The ruby fashioned into a cabochon of a specific shape was known as "carbuncle" centuries ago. There is no stone of this name, though many books list carbuncle as a separate stone. Another example of the strangely convoluted history of gemstones!

Stories from A-Z
Magick, Crystal Magick
Nowadays it is often standard not only to add your website to a list of webpages using a short description but to write an informative story which points to your site. Also we offer you the possibility to tell your readers more about yourself thereby making a lasting impression which would be impossible by simply using a title and a short description alone.
Writing for the internet is a special challenge since most visitors of a webpage only skim through texts in order to find the information they were seeking as quickly as possible. It is therefore very important to structure your stories in a way that makes them easy to comprehend and quick to read. In this context it is helpful to start the text with a summary of its content and only then to explain more details step by step - this way the visitor of the webpage can decide after every paragraph if he already has learned enough or if he wants to read more information.
The different ideas of your story should be arranged as short paragraphs which should not be longer than 3-4 sentences. Certainly your text starts with a main heading that summarizes the content of the story, that is to the point and that is not longer than 10 words - but also subheadings should be used as additional structural elements. Furthermore important parts of the story should be written in bold or italics if they are citations. Since italic characters can be hard to read on screen alternatively citations can be highlighted using quotation marks or (as we will see later) they can be written in colour if they are especially important for your story. But please make sure that you don't overuse coloured or bold text since your story otherwise can become confusing.
All structural elements mentioned so far make it easier to quickly skim through a text and to find the information sought. For the same purpose also bulleted lists are ideal especially if you want to talk about different facts that you have to present in a structured manner. It is also true that numbered lists can enhance the overall clearness if you want to talk about a fixed number of ideas (e.g. The 10 best Methods to make your Website famous). Also images and references structure a story: Images can enhance the interest for a text further by using an informative caption and references can lead to the originator of a quotation - these citations are best marked by coloured text to make them stand out even more.
The stories on this page http://www.alte
html were structured like recommended and therefore invite our visitors to read them quickly and to go to the mentioned websites. This is the information about our website and this page if you want to point to it:
- Website: Our short description is "Webshop for Books about Alternative Health and Crystal Healing and Jewelry".
- Page: Stories and websites about "Magick, Crystal Magick" can be found on this page.
Stories are today very often used for pointing to one's own website since they entertain and inform the visitor of a webpage and this way bring more interested readers to the site. Make sure that your stories are structured in a way that allows the skimming of the text - by this you will gain more readers which in the long run leads to more visitors of your website.
